Raiders! : The Story of the Greatest Fan Film Ever Made
D: Jeremy Coon, Tim Skousen | USA | 104 min| Regional Premiere
In 1982, two 11-year-old Mississippi boys set out to remake their favorite film,Raiders of the Lost Ark, shot-for-shot, a goal that consumed seven turbulent summers, testing the limits of their friendship and nearly burned down a house in the process. By the time the boys had reached 18, they had completed every scene except one: the explosion of the airplane in the final scene of the original film . Thirty years later, Chris and Eric decided to realize their childhood dream by building a replica of the 75-foot "Flying Wing" plane in a mud pit in the backwoods of Mississippi. This is the surprisingly moving story behind those seven summers of their youth, going behind the scenes for the making of "the greatest fan film ever made."
