The oldest documentary film festival in North America, will celebrate its 25th Anniversary, October 7-16, 2016.
Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival is made possible only through the generous donations of our loyal supporters. As we prepare for this important year, the quarter century mark for HSDFF, we need your help. As a non-profit, we cannot sustain on ticket sales alone.

HSDFF is an Academy Award®-qualifying festival in the category of Documentary Short Subject, and has been named to MovieMaker Magazine's global list of "50 Festivals Worth the Entry Fee”.
Documentary legends visiting the festival over the years have included James Earl Jones, Albert Maysles, Robert Kenner, Ken Burns, D.A. Pennebaker, Robert Drew, Peter Coyote and Gordon Quinn. Attendance over 10 days each October has risen to 10,000+, while being supported by a small paid staff and nearly 300 volunteers. Surrounded by the beauty of the Arkansas autumn, filmmakers, film lovers and special guests come together in the historic spa town of Hot Springs to celebrate the documentary genre, and to make friends from all over the world.
