We are a three-day festival celebrating cutting-edge, underground
film and video art. We aren't interested in the politics of Hollywood,
and want to promote original work made on the fringes of the art world.

Our goal as a festival is to present an array of underground, experimental and outsider films from the past and present in order to educate audiences about the often overlooked genre of “underground” film.

 

 

 

 

Film festival goes underground

The Hot Springs Documentary Film Institute and Low Key Arts will collaborate to present the first Arkansas Underground Film Festival.

The Historic Malco Theater, 817 Central Ave., will be the site of the event from Friday-Sunday, July 17-19.
“We have all our submissions in and we are pulling the ones that will actually show,” Dan Anderson, HSDFI’s technical director, said Thursday.

The festival will be programmed by Anderson, while HSDFI Board Chair Ben Meade will serve as program consultant.
